A new Puppetry Arts Portal (PAM) is underway

The website of choice for the puppet in France is getting a makeover.

We have designed it first and foremost for the users – theatre-goers , professionals and researchers alike.

We want it open to your contributions on the one hand, and to the availability of data on the other.

In the meantime, we are offering you a temporary PAM which will not fail to surprise you.

The original PAM was posted on line in 2011.

We have taken your feedback into account and have designed the next version of the PAM (2017) first and foremost for the users – theatre-goers , professionals and researchers alike:

  • A more user-friendly website accessible on cell phones and tablet computers
  • Thematic entries
  • Areas offering functionalities and content adapted to your centres of interest

We want it open to your contributions on the one hand, and to the availability of data on the other.

As such, you will be able to:

  • Collaboratively transcribe manuscripts and videos.
  • Bring corrections to our attention or propose complements to contribute to the entries.
  • Recuperate data via APIs and widgets.

The puppetry arts are present in history, contemporary creation and on the Web in manifold ways. In order to gather together information about puppets in the PAM and to be able to render all of its contents very visible, we have opted for a semantic data model, placing at its very centre the idea of performance (FrBroo structure).

In parallel, all the PAM partners are carrying on with their efforts to digitalise and share archives relative to puppetry arts. The PAM gets regularly enhanced by:

  • the entry of new collections
  • new pivot records on performances, puppeteers, puppet words

While awaiting the discovery of this new version of the PAM, we are putting a temporary website at your disposal. This will allow you to consult the greater part of the PAM content. Certain features of the former website are not yet accessible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Have a good visit!
